Hey, on the occasion of Narali Purnima and Raksha Bandhan in Maharashtra and Concan area most of the people make sweet coconut rice at home. Today on Narali Purnima, I am going to share this simple but tasty recipe. So, let’s start:
- Tender grated Coconut – 1 Cup
- Sugar – 1 Cup
- Rice (as per your choice) – 1 Cup
- Skimmed Milk – 500ml
- Nutmeg powder – ¼ tsp
- Ghee – 2 tsp

Take one brown but tender coconut smashes it and separates coconut kernel from it. Now grate it finely and keep aside. Take Rice whichever you like to use and wash and keep aside.
Now take a pan and heat in medium flame, add 2 tsp of ghee in it, now add rice which we have already washed and kept, fry that nicely for 3 to 4 min. now add boiled milk approx. 500ml skimmed milk. One’s rice starts boiling add grated coconut now after one boiling keep close the pan and after 10 to 15 min check your rice. Is it cooked? Or needed to add some more milk, if needed, please add the required quantity as per your rice quality. Now add sugar and pinch of nutmeg powder and some of the dry fruits like Raisins, Cashew, and almond. Mix it well keep it on 5 min for low flame and now serve hot with some dry fruits garnishing. Well now is the time to enjoy sweet coconut rice.
