Cookies And Nutritious Bars


Today is Friday and again a day for my new blog. Christmas and new year coming so, this Friday, I have decided today to share some Home party items like homemade cookies and nutritious bars. That will give your party a homely and loving touch for your family and friends. These cookies and nutritious bars will send a message that you wish and care for them. So, without late, we will start collecting ingredients.

Ingredients:

  • Guava (seedless) – 1/4 Cup
  • Lemon juice and lemon zest – 2 tsp
  • Orange juice and zest – 2 tsp
  • Oats – 1 Cup
  • All-purpose flour – 1 Cup
  • Baking Soda – 1/4 tsp
  • Baking Powder – 1/4 tsp
  • Curd – 1/4 Cup
  • Jaggery – 1/4 Cup
  • Salt – 1/2 tsp (as per the taste)
  • Ghee (room temperature) – 5 tsp

Note: If you are making sweet cookies and bars, then use jaggery in the dough. If you want to make salty cookies, then use salt while making the dough. If you like the taste 50 – 50, then use salt and jaggery both.

I will make cookies and bars in all three types sweet, salty, and 50-50. So, first I will mix all dry ingredients oats, all-purpose flour, baking powder, and baking soda, now I will add curd and 3 tsp ghee into it, mix it well and divide this flour mix into three parts.

In the first portion, I will add guava for flavor and half portion of jaggery, the second portion, adds lemon juice and lemon zest for flavoring and salt to taste, the third portion adds orange juice and zest for tang and add jaggery and salt for 50-50 taste. Mix all the dough well and keep aside for 15 min to rest.

Now I am going to make cookies and bars on my thick bottom pan you can make as per your choice can be oven or microwave. I will retain the pan on a very low flame for preheating. Till pan heat well, I will flatten all the dough’s with the help of roller and cut shapes as per the choice. Now grease the pan with ghee and keep all the stamps for the baking and cover with the lid. Bake it in very low flame for 7 to 10 min, when the first side has done nice brown flip it and keep it for 7 to 10 min. Ones it is done, decorate with some of the homemade jams and dry fruits. Serve as many verities you do, and your friends and family won’t stop praising you. That’s a great feeling, yes, I know. Next year, people will remember your cookies and nutritious bar with the mouth-watering taste.

Note: for topping, you can use many things means peanuts, coconut, popped millet, sesame seeds, dry fruits, Cumin, dates, sugar, and many more things are in the kitchen that you can try. If you wish toppings while baking, then need to use toppings at a rolling time, and if you want to add over any jam or cream as a base, then you need to sprinkle on it. Try as many as you can, soon you will find, your inner cook and that will be a great chef.
