Onam is a South Indian festival it belongs to, Kerala. This year in Onam, we are not able to go to the shops to by Ada. No problem, we can make ada at home and use it. Ada making is an effortless process. You need to have ada rice powder, add 1 tsp of sugar, 1 tsp of ghee, and a pinch of salt. Now mix it well and make a batter like Dosa. Now spread it on Banana leaves and tie with thread, steam it, and cut as per your choice.
If you can buy ready ada for the shop, it will be easy to make ada pradhaman. Now collect the ingredients.
- Ada – 1/2 cup
- Jaggery– 1 cup
- Sugar – 1 tsp
- Ghee – 3 tsp
- Thin Coconut Milk – 1/2 cup
- Thick Coconut Milk – 1 cup
- Cardamom Powder – 1 tsp
- Dry – Fruits – as per your wish
Now start the recipe, Take ada soak in a pan for 15 min. Now boil water and add ada into it. Now cook ada until becoming a little soft because later again, we are going to cook with jaggery and coconut milk. Now drain the remaining water, and add 1 tsp of ghee into it, mix well and keep aside. Now take jaggery and add little water to melt it properly. Ones it is done, take a heavy bottom pan and add ada into it with this add melted jaggery. While adding jaggery remember to filter it. Now stir it well, add 1 tsp of sugar, and 1 tsp of ghee into it just to give a little shine. Ones it is done, add Thine coconut milk let it boil for a few minutes. Ones you find it is reducing, add thick coconut milk. Let it cook till it gives a thick consistency. Remember to stir it continually in full process. At the end of the process, if you wish, add 1 tsp ghee, just for a shine. Now add cardamom powder and mix it well. Add dry-fruits as per your choice.
