Healthy Millet Donuts

A weekend breakfast recipe. Today I am going to share healthy millet donuts. In this recipe, I am going to use Sorghum Millet (Jowar), which is very healthful and encourages me to consume a gluten-free meal. I love to have fiber and row texture food because it is easy to digest and make me feel energetic all the time. So, let’s start with the Sorghum millet flour.


  • Sorghum Millet Flour – 1 cup
  • Bengal Gram Flour – 1/4 Cup
  • Green Methi leaves – 1 Cup
  • Salt – As per the taste
  • Asafoetida – 1/4 tsp
  • Green chili (sliced cut)- 2
  • Garlic cloves paste – 1/2 tsp
  • Gingerpaste – 1/4 tsp
  • Oil – 1 Cup
  • Turmeric– 1/4 tsp

First, clean methi leaves and separate from the stems, going to use only leaves in this recipe. Now take a bowl and add all ingredients, Sorghum millet flour, Bengal gram flour, methi leaves, salt, Asafoetida, Sliced chili, Garlic paste, Ginger paste, and 2 tsp oil, and Turmeric powder. Mix all well, now add water and make a semi-solid dough and rest it for 5 min.

Now make small parts and give the shape of a donuts and give a shallow fry with remaining oil to both sides till it becomes golden brown. Now remove from the oil and serve hot with fresh-made tomato chutney. Now you must be thinking about tomato chutney. How to make it? That can be your choice, but how I prepared, I am excited to share it with you. To start tomato chutney:

  • Tomatoes -2 medium size
  • Garlic paste -1/4 tsp
  • Red Chili powder – 1/4 tsp
  • Salt – As per the taste
  • Sugar – 1/4 tsp
  • Cumin– 1/4 tsp
  • Oil – 1 tsp

First, roast the tomatoes and peel it, now mash it and add all the ingredients, garlic paste, red chili powder, salt, and sugar. Now take a small pan and to prepare a condiment heat pan to add oil and bust cumin in it. Now add this condiment into mashed tomatoes mix, and mix your chutney well and your tomatoes chutney is ready to serve with hot and healthy millet donuts.
