Coriander Seeds: Dhaniya in Hindi

Coriander seeds come from cilantro plants. Fresh coriander seeds come in winter session in India. Coriander seeds known as Coriandrum sativum also.

Coriander seeds are good for regulation of hormones and especially if you have thyroid problems, than you must consume coriander seed to regulate hormones. It also reduces heavy menstrual flow and provides iron for better energy. Coriander seeds fiber and detoxifying ability also great weight loss aid. If you feel pink eyes because of summer heat make a pest of coriander seed powder and apply on your eyelids in circular shape but before applying on your eyelids, keep a thin cotton pad dip in rose water to protect your eyes from any kind of reaction, rest for fever minutes and wash with ice water, because of cooling nature it may help to reduce pinkness and itchiness but don’t do this without consultation of your doctor. If you find any kind of reaction with your skin remove pack immediately and contact to your doctor. Be careful; do not play with your eyes.

How to consume:

Coriander seeds flavor is great going with citrus fruits. Combine it with lemon, pears and apple smoothie or juices. These juices or smoothies are flaunting with the coriander flavor and will rich in antioxidant. This will be great for flawless skin and overall health improvement.

Coriander Tea: Boil 3 tbsp of soaked coriander seeds (soaked for minimum 3 hours) in a glass of water till it reduces to half. Strain the water and drink it twice daily.

Smoothie: Take cooling ingredients like cucumber, water melon or musk melon, curd, salt as per the taste pinch of cumin powder and pinch of coriander seeds powder blend well and enjoy. Yes! You can add ice as per needed.

Coriander seeds water: Simply boil 1 teaspoon of crushed coriander seeds in 1 cup water. Drink warm and add honey, I am sure you will like it. It is good for the swollen throat.

Coriander ointment: take 1/2 Tsp coriander seed powder with coconut oil or any of your choice scentless lotion mix it with Shea butter well and rub on your joints as needed. In market coriander oil also available can be used for arthritis.

How to store:

If you want to store fresh green coriander seeds then paste it and refrigerate it, this way you can store this for two to three months. If you want to store dry coriander seeds for long time than roast it well, after getting normal temperature, keep in a dry airtight containers this way can secure the flavor and seeds also.
