Hey, as I told, I will give my blog in three parts on lime – lemon, so today is the third part that I am going to share now. My first part was lime and lemon second was lemon peel and is third Citric Acid.

Citric Acid

Citric Acid

Citric acid was first derived from lemon juice It is an odorless and colorless compound that was produced from the lemon juice but letter it starter to made in other ways. Its taste like sour and used for food flavoring and as food preserver also.it is mostly used in home-made soft drinks and homemade sugar Candies’.

Fruits with more sore tastes contain more citric acid and less sore taste contains lesser citric acid. You may understand that’s if you have a lemon, lime, grapes, orange than it has more citric acid and if you consume like pineapple, tomatoes or berries’ than it is lesser sore so, it contains lesser amount of citric acid.

The citric acid content in sauces like tomato sauce, red chili sauce, etc.. Citric acid is also a byproduct of many. Like soft drinks, hard drinks and some bakery items.

Citric acid commonly used in houses for cleaning purposes. Like removing soap scum in the washing area, hard water stains on metallic things, and also cleaning rust. Citric acid is a reasonable cleanser rather than bleaching products.

Citric acid enhances the bio-availability of minerals and allowing your body to absorb them better and easier.

Citric acid is a wonderful product for treating several skin problems like mild acne, pigmentation, clogged pores, sun tanning, wrinkles, and dark spots. Lemons, oranges, and certain berries contain citric acid in large quantities. You can apply citric acid on the skin, in the form of peels, toners, scrubs or masks.

How to Consume:

Citric acid you can consume like bread, sauces, varies dough’s, curries and as many as forms you can use it. I use citric acid in curry and sweet and sour dals (lentils). In some dishes, I prefer to use it, in place of tamarind because my parents fill joint pain when they consume a dish made with tamarind. Citric acid is the best alternative of tamarind for me, ones you also try it.

I use to use this to make chhena (A crumbly and moist form of farmers cheese, it is created in a similar process to paneer except it is not pressed for long.) it is so simple to make just boil milk and add some small pieces of citric acid and again boil till milk water get separate from milk now filter that chhena from water and use it for anything like Kalakand, Rasogulla, Chhena Bhurji (Vegetarian Bhuji) if you want any of the recipes I can share it.

Citric acid has other uses like cleaning metals, did you know you can clear your drainage system with citric acid, yes I also was no known but I simply tried and it worked. Just add 1 tsp citric acid mix with 1 tbsp of baking soda pore into your washbasins pore 1 cup of normal water into it and leave it for 15 min. now pore 1 bucket of water into it, and you see your pipeline clear now. You can use citric acid for cleaning bathroom tabs; tiles other than this you can use citric acid as a beauty product. You can make homemade face packs, scrubs, toners, etc…
