Gooseberry Recipes – Part 3
I am back with some of my favorite Awala recipes, including jam and jelly. I know that jam and jelly items usually, kids like, but what to do? I also like jam and jelly some sweet and soft texture yummy.
So, you got an idea today I am going to share Awala Jam and Jelly. So without late, we will come to the point and start our Awala Jam recipe.

- Awala – 500 g.
- Sugar – 1 kg.
- Ghee – 1 tsp
- Ginger – 1-inch coins (5 to 6 coins)
Boil all Awala and take all for seedless. Ones have done with it grind with ginger and make a fine paste. Now take a pan to keep in a low flame, add all Awala paste into it and add full sugar. Stir it continuously till it becomes thick and make sure water content must not be in it. Now add 1 tsp of ghee into it and mix it well. Ghee gives Jam shine and smooth texture to Jam. Yes, your Awala Jam is ready to use, but don’t forget to make it cool and store in an airtight jar. It is yummy and so smooth to spread in the bread, even I like with Chapati also. In this Amala Jam, ginger enhances the flavor of Awala.
Our next recipe is Awala Jelly. Yes, I know when I see it, my eye bolls comes out, What to do? I love this sweet sore and fluffy texture. I can’t wait to prepare this, Awala Jelly. Let’s Start:
- Awala – 500g.
- Sugar – 1Kg.
- Lemon juice – 2 tsp
- Cornflour – 1 tsp
- Ghee – 1 tsp
Boil all Awala and take all for seedless. Ones have done with it grind and make a fine paste. Now take a pan to keep in a low flame, add all Awala paste into it and add full sugar. Stir it continuously till it melted correctly ones done add lemon juice. Now stir well, and cornflour mix with 1 tsp of water adds into the Awala and Sugar mix. While adding cornflour with one hand stir it continuously. Ones become a thick mixture, add ghee into it and mix it well. Now your Awala jelly mix is ready to settle and cut. Oil the platter and then spread the Awala mix and carefully cut the Awala Jelly.

So, how it looks? Natural green color, juicy, and fluffy jelly loved it.
Yes, I know it so tempting, and kids do love it. It is not only tasty, but it is also healthy for kids. Because in this jelly is a bundle of energy and Vitamin – C. Kids need this extra to build their healthy immune and match their energy level.
