Sago: Sabudana in Hindi


Sago/ Sabudana white pearls are energy boosters and are tapioca/ cassava roots starch pearls. These pearls are easy to digest and cook. Sago on fasting days is mostly preferred because it has all the things which we to sustain for the day. Sago is mostly a south Indian product like Kerala, Andhra-Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu. Let’s Know the benefits of Sago:

Great for the Gut:

It is trouble-free to digest. It is best for other gut systems like constipation, indigestion, bloating, and flatulence.

Sago is rich in carbohydrates. It helps to sustain for a long day of fasting.

Sago is a product of Tapioca roots. It is full of Calcium, iron, potassium, and vitamin K. It can help to grow healthy bones because of this quality feeding Sago to weaning babies is good.

Beat for Protein Sourcing:

Sago/ Sabudana is rich in protein, which helps in muscle growth. It also helps in repairing the cells and tissues. It promotes cell growth.

It has a cooling nature. So adding Sago to the daily diet in summer is good.

Now we know about Sago/ sabudana, so let’s start making a dish. You can have this dish on fasting, and other times also I like the flavor of this milky Sago so, I make this in breakfast as well. Let’s collect the ingredients.

First, Boil Sago with 1 cup water and add the carrot. Boil for 10 minutes, add milk, and boil till Sago becomes transparent. In this dish, stir continuously is a must. Once it is cook, take out from the flame. Let it cool down for a few minutes. Now add Dates, peanuts, banana slices, cardamom powder, and if required, add honey. Serve in a bowel. Remember, do not consume much amount at one time because after adding many other things, this becomes a heavy dish. This dish may make you full for 6 to 7 hours. I enjoy my Sago to make yours, try to add other seasonal fruits as per your choice. Experiment with the taste is a great exercise. Try and let me know which taste you like the most.
