Chia Seeds are native to South America and were introduced to the old world by Europeans. They don’t have any particular name in Hindi but Basil/Sabza Seeds (written as Sabja) are the seeds of Tulsi. They are sweet basil-seeds. So, friends! today we are going to find the specialty of Chia and Sabja Seeds.

So, if you are on a weight loss diet and you are suggested by your dietician to consume Chia or Sabja/ Sabza seeds than look at the difference between Chia seeds and Sabja seeds and different benefits of each one.

Sabja Seeds are uniformly Black or pitch black .

Chia Seeds looks like Oval in shape. Sabja looks like Elliptical, like tiny grains of Rice.
Soaked chia seeds does not have any taste of its own and can easily be added in any kind of dish. Soaked Sabjs has a mild flavor of Basil and imparts the same to drinks and desserts.
Chia takes time to absorb water and swell up. Sabja swells up within seconds of being mixed with water.
Chia have the unique ability to gel by absorbing over 10 times their weight. Sabja have a translucent coat forms around the seed and it appears much larger when compared to a soaked chia seed.
