Yes, I am back, and in our last blog, we made a Moong Sprouts Rice. Today, we will know about Moong Dal (Vigna radiata). As everyone knows, moong dal is a very healthy dal. It is very light to digest. In my place, India, if anyone is not well, then we observe moong dal to him. So, that person soon feels better and energetic. Today, I got to know that from ancients, time moong dal was grown. Before, it was only in India, but later it spread in chine and other parts of southeast Asia.
These beans are slightly sweet taste, and sprouts are available in the food stores. Moong dal is mostly eaten in soups, salad, and stir fry items. These beans are high in plant-based protein, fiber, vitamins, and minerals. Moong dal is the best source of amino acids.
What are amino acids?
Amino acids build blocks of proteins. 75% of the body made up of it. Amino acids are a helper of almost everybody functions like, including growth and development, healing and repair, normal digestion, and providing energy for your body. Amino acids, your body is not able to produce its own.
Moong dal is high in antioxidants, which helps to reduce harmful free radicals and reduce the risk of many diseases. Moong dal holds high anti-nutrients. Moong dal prevents from summer strokes. It is better to consume as soups or very thin liquid dal. These can be with condiments or plain. It may reduce your body temperature in summer days and protect from summer strokes. It also helps to heal injury soon. Moong dals contain antioxidants, which help to lower bad cholesterol and lower the risk of heart disease.

Anti-nutrients helps the absorption of nutrients in our body. Anti-nutrients improves the conversion of minerals like zinc, magnesium, and calcium in our body.

Moong Dal is a good source of soluble fiber named pectin and also a notable amount of resistant starch. It just because moong dal contains high fiber and protein. It slows down the sugar release to the bloodstream, and insulin gets more time to work effectively in our body. This high fiber and protein make it a superfood for the peoples who are trying to lose weight. It helps to lower the hunger. Moong dal is a folate-rich food, which is a must food for pregnant women.
Pectin helps to keep your bowels regular by speeding the flow of food into your gut. Resistant starch is the same as a soluble fiber. It helps to nourish your healthy gut bacteria. These are good bacteria, which improve the digestion process.
Moong/ mung dal or beans are easy to cook and delicious. We can make various dishes with moong/mung dal. It can be sweet and spicy, soup, or salad. Enjoy it, as per your wish I like curry leaves and green chili, condiment dal. Wow, it’s mouth-watering taste. Try it and serve with hot rice, yummy.
